Edison Investment Research releases “Antibiotic Amplifier”, an assessment of AmpliPhi Biosciences
Edison Investment Research has released their most recent assessment of AmpliPhi Biosciences, titled “Antibiotic Amplifier.” The document is freely available at edisoninvestmentresearch.co.uk.
From their summary: “As the growth of resistance prompts pharma to move increasingly beyond chemical antibiotics in a search for new methods of combating bacterial infections, AmpliPhi will be well placed to deliver a new approach. The company is pioneering the development of bacteriophages, naturally occurring viruses that are specific for bacteria. As well as being safe, bacteriophages self-replicate, and could be dosed in very low quantities and then scale up – amplify – in the presence of infection.”
